The Existential Chef

The Practice of living lightly

ARIA Compass in a case.png

A compass for the moments you lose your way

The ARIA Compass

ARIA gives you four directions to check when fear, old patterns, and mental noise have made a situation feel too close, too important, or too tangled to see clearly.
“The Compass has no preferred outcome, only a preferred source.”

How to use it

You do not work through a compass. You check it.

The four points are not a sequence. They are four ways of looking at the same moment. One may be enough to show you where you have drifted; another may point towards the action that sits more lightly afterwards.

Authenticity is the anchor. Resonance, Insight, and Awareness clear the field so that Authenticity can be answered without distortion

A

Authenticity

What matters when approval is removed?

Stripping away what other people might think, what does the part of me that does not shift actually value here?

Decide from here.

R

resonance

Does this weight belong to now?

Is my reaction in proportion to what is actually happening, or is something earlier supplying force to the present?

Borrowed weight is not part of the current decision.

I

insight

What do I actually know?

What could I defend in a courtroom, and what has my mind inferred, magnified, or predicted?

The actual situation is usually smaller than the picture around it.

A

awareness

Am I noticing, or am I inside it?

Can I see the thought as a thought before its first interpretation becomes my next action?

The mind being watched cannot spin in quite the same way.
